It is time for us to say good bye to 2020 (yes!). While we do so, it’s important to take a moment and look back on all the life lessons and personal growth that has happened.. and to be grateful for it all. All the tears, fears, happiness and joy has lead us to where we are now, today. To the awesomeness that each one of us is today.

2020 has been a year of change, of learning, of community, of new friends, and narrowing my focus towards my passions and life goals.

Whether you are in your 20s or +70s… Essentrics is for you. Here is why.(Words below from our Essentrics head office —

There’s a simple explanation to the changes you’re likely feeling in your body — and it comes down to science. By the time you’ve reached your 50s, you may have lost approximately 20% of your muscle mass if you’ve been semi-sedentary, versus 6% if you’ve been active. This translates into 20% fewer muscle cells working to keep you burning calories, give you energy, and prevent stiffness in your joints. This is why you may notice that you…

YOUR 20s

This is the time to plant the seeds for a lifetime of health. Muscle cells fuel your metabolism and give you energy; at this age, the natural rate of cellular regeneration is at its peak — even without an active lifestyle. This will change as you age, so taking a proactive approach with full-body movement will keep all of your muscle cells alive and healthy.

Essentrics® can help:

  • Strengthen, lengthen, tone and define your muscles
  • Offset imbalances created from repetitive motions of daily activities and sports.
  • Correct and maintain good posture.
  • Improve physical performance by working every muscle chain equally.

As humans, one way we get through life is to have days of celebration, of rest, of mourning, etc. We call these Holidays. Have you noticed how the use of the word Holidays causes conflict and gets complicated?

First, let’s talk about some of our Holidays. (Below). Maybe you’ll get to learn something new. That’s always a plus in my book. I try to learn something new everyday.

“Believe it or not, Thanksgiving in Canada, or at least the land that would become Canada, has its own history, separate from our American counterparts .(…). Traditions of giving thanks long predate…

I didn’t see a therapist. I found other tools that worked for me. This is my own experience. I am not suggesting that this is for everyone.

Back in 1996 I was depressing and my doctor did what he was trained to do. He asked me all the appropriate questions, including if all was well with friends, work and husband. The good and the bad is that my doctor didn’t prescribe medicine lightly. Sometimes meds are not needed, sometimes it is a tool to help start the healing process.

He didn’t prescribes meds right away. Not until seeing me a…

Love and worthiness. — All humans have the same psychological and physiological needs. These basic needs are important for mental health.

Think of someone who is in a nursing home suffering from dementia; the one who says she/he needs no one yet is going through panic attacks; or that human who lost a lifelong best friend and is suffering from depression. What do they have in common?

How adapting is affecting us is very different from one person to the next, from one business to the next.. yet at the same time we can say we are all experiencing this together, albeit differently.

A recent Facebook post of mine:

On a recent post at “Essentrics with Nancy” Facebook page, I touch on how adapting is affecting my business. It went something like this:

I am doing my best to be there for Essentrics peeps. Your health and wellbeing matters. Seeing participants bodies change, seeing their energy increase, and their bodies getting more and more familiar with Essentrics is a magical thing. …

During these “covid-19” times, I have asked each of my family members. What have you learned during these past months?

Bill: I miss the travelling part of my job.
Alexander: That the world is forever changed.
Nadia: Not much lol
Me: That I am exactly where I want to be.

I have just had to make what for me are tough decisions.

But today I realized I learned more than that… which left me feeling sad. It has always been about my participants. About helping as many as I can. And I was helping many people… more each year. Covid has been hard on small businesses including mine.

What have I learned from this new normal?

It has forced me…

Back in 2018, I purchases a safety razor as part of the changes I have chosen to make towards sustainable living. I have been using a safety razor for over 1 year and here is what I have learned so far.

Any little thing we do makes a bigger impact than we may believe.

First off, during that year I have learned to not forget my own advice about how to use a safety razor. Anytime I forget, I end up with nicks and or bumps on my legs. …
